Introduction

The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) is an independent body working to protect and inform consumers of financial services. The FCAC was created by the Government of Canada in October 2001 to strengthen the oversight of consumer issues and expand consumer education. Among other things, the FCAC is responsible for educating consumers about their rights and responsibilities, and for helping consumers get the information they need to be more informed about financial products and services.
